One morning in Nikiti, Halkidiki, a local fisherman took us on a short journey through the calm waters with his small boat. As we moved across the sea, he spoke to us about humanity and love, about loneliness and companionship, about faith and the mystery of living simply.
“Nothing belongs to me in this life,” he said with a quiet, unpretentious serenity. “And that’s what makes me happy.” There was a kind of wisdom in his words. The kind that belongs to those who need little to feel complete. Just a boat, which isn’t even his, the sea, and a bit of company.
During the trip, I took photographs, trying to capture not just images but the feeling of that moment. An unexpected encounter with a stranger who, for a while, became a mirror of ourselves.
